The War on Drugged LA Times

Posted by redsatellite on March 2, 2009

The blame America mentality on the left is….well it’s NEVERENDING. Everything the U.S. does is wrong….everything. We are to blame for the entire world’s ills. No, I’m not kidding.

And I’m sick and tired of it.

The war we gave Mexico

Early in the last century, near the end of his 34 bloody years in power, the aging Mexican strongman Porfirio Diaz mused that his country’s great misfortune was to be located “so far from God and so near the United States.”

Many fear that Mexico could be sliding into civil instability because of the cartels’ increasing willingness to use violence and bribery to protect their business. It’s an old story in other parts of Latin America, and for that reason, three of the region’s former heads of state — including onetime Mexican President Ernesto Zedillo – recently issued a report urging the U.S. to consider legalizing at least marijuana. Fat chance.

Mexico is a complex country with a resourceful and creative people. It also is — like other Latin American nations ravaged by the drug trade– burdened with a stunted civil society, chronic maldistribution of wealth, ingrained corruption and endemic political violence. These pathologies have made it painfully susceptible to the social and economic distortions created by America’s seemingly insatiable desire for drugs.

If Americans really are concerned about the horrific toll inflicted by Mexico’s narco-gangsters, we need to ask some tough questions about our own cultural and political delusions.

The LA Times writer, Mr. Tim Rutten, needs to ponder this: If a child grows up to be a drug trafficker, a felon, a life-long criminal and/or a VICIOUS EVIL MURDERER….how in the hell is that America’s fault?

If you’re looking for the moral highground, you leftwing dolt, why not start with the disintegration of the Mexican family, the breakdown of Mexican society, and the dysfunctional Mexican PARENTS who raised these murdering psychopaths?

So let me see if I understand Mr. Rutten’s brilliant dissertation. Okay, soooooooo…..someone in America wants to get high- and he’s willing to pay for it. And because he wants to get high….drug dealers and traffickers down in Juarez or Acapulco or Cancun decide to maim, murder, and behead civilians, government officials, and police – yep, makes perfect sense.

I’ve decided, the synapse wiring in liberals- must look like telephone lines in a third world country.

With such wit and syllogistic acuity, it’s a wonder he hasn’t won a Pulitzer.

Liberals and Ethics

Posted by redsatellite on February 19, 2009

Are mutually exclusive. Always have been….and what’s worse, now that their Bush-bashing days are over, the sniping vacuous liberals and their moral relativism and equivocation…has FINALLY come under the national spotlight– joining the conspicuous glare with Obama. Even the MSM can’t cover their hideous assault on moral absolutes.

The Obama administration and the new Congress are quickly handing over to Republicans the same “culture of corruption” issue that Democrats used so effectively against the GOP before coming to power.

Freshman Sen. Roland Burris, D-Ill., is only the latest embarrassment.

The political mess for the Democratic Party, however, isn’t Burris’ conduct alone; it’s the pattern that has developed so quickly over the past few months.

-The chairman of the House Ways and Means Committee, Rep. Charles Rangel, D-N.Y., is the subject of a House ethics investigation. It’s partly focused on his fundraising practices for a college center in his name, his ownership financing of a resort property in the Dominican Republic and his financial disclosure reports.

-Federal agents raided two Pennsylvania defense contractors that were provided millions of dollars in federal funding by Rep. John Murtha, D-Pa., chairman of the House Appropriations defense subcommittee.

Blagojevich was arrested Dec. 9 on federal charges, including allegations he schemed to sell the Senate seat to the highest bidder.

Tom Daschle, the former Senate majority leader from South Dakota, abandoned his bid to become health and human services secretary and the administration’s point man on reforming health care; and Nancy Killefer stepped down from a newly created position charged with eliminating inefficient government programs.

-Treasury Secretary Timothy Geithner was confirmed after revealing he had tax troubles.

-Obama’s initial choice for commerce secretary, Bill Richardson, stepped aside due to a grand jury investigation into a state contract awarded to his political donors.

I mean c’mon….is this an absolute HOOT? Heck, if ‘the list’ gets any longer- Guinness World Records will be calling them. I haven’t seen this many names in one place…

…since I picked up a Los Angeles PHONEBOOK!

In Mexico, Good Guys NEVER Win

Posted by redsatellite on February 5, 2009

If I were you, I’d skip that vacation to Cancun. Down in Mexico…the bad guys always win. Yesterday, the anti-drug chief turned up dead….after ONE DAY on the job.

A recently retired Mexican army general whose bullet-riddled body was found Tuesday near Cancun had taken over as the area’s top antidrug official less than 24 hours earlier, officials said.

Retired Gen. Mauro Enrique Tello Quiñonez, his aide and a driver were tortured before being killed, said Quintana Roo state prosecutor Bello Melchor Rodriguez y Carrillo. He said there was no doubt Tello and the others were victims of organized crime.

“The general was the most mistreated,” Rodriguez said at a Tuesday night news conference monitored by El Universal newspaper. “He had burns on his skin and bones in his hands and wrists were broken.”

An autopsy revealed Tello also suffered broken knees and was shot 11 times, Mexico City’s Excelsior newspaper said.

Gee, how pleasant.

Why would anyone take that job? I mean…unless Mexican President, Felipe Calderón, sends in a MASSIVE force of National Guard to eradicate the drug lords and the drug cartels in places like Acapulco and Cancun, nothing is going to change.

Be Careful What You Wish For

Posted by redsatellite on February 3, 2009

This often repeated line is repeated for a REASON. Today, humans can’t get enough of computers and technology. It is entrenched in every part of our lives. From the time we wake up, until the time we go to bed. Whether it be….at home, on your job, or running errands….we’re busy using ATMs, Online Bill Pay, eFiling Taxes, Internet Shopping, self-help lines, pre-paid Gift Cards, automobile systems, you name it, we’re using computers.

But what if- one day soon– they exceed our ability to control them?

Google and Nasa are throwing their weight behind a new school for futurists in Silicon Valley to prepare scientists for an era when machines become cleverer than people.

The new institution, known as “Singularity University”, is to be headed by Ray Kurzweil, whose predictions about the exponential pace of technological change have made him a controversial figure in technology circles.

Google and Nasa’s backing demonstrates the growing mainstream acceptance of Mr Kurzweil’s views, which include a claim that before the middle of this century artificial intelligence will outstrip human beings, ushering in a new era of civilisation.

Remember Blade Runner? I, Robot? Or The Terminator movies? Not exactly a rosy picture. The same can be said for our newfound ability to clone. Last week, a couple paid $155,000 to clone their Labrador Retriever. Cloning? Computers More Clever Than Humans?

Think about it.

All Good Things Must Come to an End

Posted by redsatellite on January 27, 2009

And so it will with Governor Rod Blagojevich. His AMPLE 15 minutes of fame are up. His prancing and preening, his jogging in the snow, his ability to outfox fellow democrats and fill Obama’s vacant Senate seat. Ruh roh…the party’s over. He’s facing an impeachment trial this week, and no amount of Rudyard Kipling is going to save him:

“If you can keep your head when all about you/Are losing theirs and blaming it on you/If you can trust yourself when all men doubt you/But make allowance for their doubting, too . . .”

“If you can bear to hear the truth you’ve spoken/Twisted by knaves to make a trap for fools/Or watch the things you gave your life to, broken/And stoop and build ’em up with worn-out tools.”

OR Alfred Lord Tennyson…

“One equal temper of heroic hearts/Made weak by time and fate, but strong in will/To strive, to seek, to find, and not to yield.”

I mean…c’mon! Is this entertainment or what?

Then, on Friday, he told a Chicago radio station that he was in “a 21st-century Frank Capra movie, Gary Cooper, Jimmy Stewart movie.” That afternoon, he compared himself to an accused horse thief in a cowboy movie.

Uh….not so fast buckaroo…there’s more:

The governor went on to describe the day he was arrested at his home. “I had a whole bunch of thoughts- of course, my children and my wife,” he said. “And then I thought about Mandela, Dr. King, Gandhi and tried to put some perspective in all of this.”

I’m kind of hoping the trial lasts at least a week or two. He might have time to invoke- Mohammed, Jesus, T.S. Eliot, AND the Dalai Lama.

If You Win, You Might Hurt My Feelings

Posted by redsatellite on January 26, 2009

That’s right. The message is….go out, don’t do your best…do your average. When you compete, make sure you always let the other team score, so that we can all be pals after the game.

The coach of a Dallas high school basketball team that beat another team 100-0 was fired Sunday, the same day he sent an e-mail to USA TODAY and other news media outlets saying he will not apologize “for a wide-margin victory when my girls played with honor and integrity.”

Kyle Queal, the headmaster for Covenant School, said in The Dallas Morning News online edition that he could not answer if the firing was a direct result of coach Micah Grimes’ e-mail disagreeing with administrators who called the blowout “shameful.”

On its website last week, Covenant, a private Christian school, posted a statement regretting the outcome of its Jan. 13 shutout win over Dallas Academy.

Dallas Academy has eight girls on its varsity team and about 20 girls in its high school. It is winless over the last four seasons. The academy boasts of its small class sizes and specializes in teaching students struggling with “learning differences,” such as short attention spans or dyslexia.

No, what’s SHAMEFUL is that administrators scheduled a game between the two schools to begin with. What’s wrong with this picture? Imagine Jesse Owens or Michael Phelps being allowed to compete in the Special Olympics.

Exactly. How ridiculous is that?

Why should the coach and the girls team be chastised for beating a school that hasn’t won in FOUR YEARS?…no matter what the score. And now the coach is fired? Both the administration at Covenant and the administration at Dallas Academy are CULPABLE. This game should’ve never happened.

The second half started with a score of 59-0. Seeing that we would win by too wide of a margin, running down the clock was the only logical course of action left. Contrary to the articles, there were only a total of four 3 point baskets made; three is the first quarter, and only 1 in the 3rd quarter. I continued to sub in bench players, play zone defense, and run the clock for the rest of the game.”

And remember, this was a High School game….not Elementary School, not T-Ball, not Pre-K or two toddlers playing hoops inside Babies-R-Us.

It’s bad enough that liberal America continues to emasculate boys in the classroom and in sports, it’s quite a trick when they manage to do it to our girls.

All Hail…Emperor Obama

Posted by redsatellite on January 20, 2009

And so the reign of Emperor Obama begins. Let it be written, let it be said (preferably not by rappers).

As many as 2 million people are expected to crowd into the area between the Capitol, the White House and the Lincoln Memorial as Barack Obama takes the oath of office at noon.

Some will be more than a mile from the swearing-in ceremony, watching on giant TV screens erected along the National Mall.

But just being among the crowd is good enough for many.

Hmmm…my giant screen TV only measures 47 inches. Fortunately, I get DIRECTV…so I should be able to find something. I’m sure 50 or 60 channels will have non-stop coverage of Caesar Obama (not to be confused with Caesar Augustus)

But I have 200 and 50 channels! The only channels I can trust today are the Cartoon channel and Nickelodeon.

I love old Tom and Jerry cartoons, they’re the best.

Hotel California: Have You Checked Out Yet?

Posted by redsatellite on January 13, 2009

Over the last year and a half, I’ve offered up a few of my reasons for leaving California. Although TOO NUMEROUS to mention, there were several that stood out. Hmmm…it looks like, I’m not alone.

Go East, young man? Californians look for the exit

Mike Reilly spent his lifetime chasing the California dream. This year he’s going to look for it in Colorado. With a house purchase near Denver in the works, the 38-year-old engineering contractor plans to move his family 1,200 miles away from his home state’s lemon groves, sunshine and beaches.

For him, years of rising taxes, dead-end schools, unchecked illegal immigration and clogged traffic have robbed the Golden State of its allure.

The clogged traffic? Um….only because 4 or 5 MILLION illegal immigrants walk the streets. Heck…the sidestreets are worse than the freeways.

The number of people leaving California for another state outstripped the number moving in from another state during the year ending on July 1, 2008. California lost a net total of 144,000 people during that period — more than any other state, according to census estimates. That is about equal to the population of Syracuse, N.Y.

The state with the next-highest net loss through migration between states was New York, which lost just over 126,000 residents.

Wasn’t I just mentioning New York? Uh….by George Stephanopoulos…I certainly was!

Why are so many looking for an exit?

Among other things: California’s unemployment rate hit 8.4 percent in November, the third-highest in the nation, and it is expected to get worse. A record 236,000 foreclosures are projected for 2008, more than the prior nine years combined, according to research firm MDA DataQuick. Personal income was about flat last year.

With state government facing a $41.6 billion budget hole over 18 months, residents are bracing for higher taxes, cuts in education and postponed tax rebates.

You can’t say, I didn’t warn you. I’ve blogged about this debacle, ’til I’m blue in the face. And let’s put it this way…(and in my best Arnold Schwarzenegger voice)I’ll NOT be back.

There’s A Reason Why It’s Called FACEbook

Posted by redsatellite on January 7, 2009

I work for a company that has all the advantages of technology. There are more mega computers, laser printers, cutting edge software applications, handy hardware accessories, and whizbang gadgets….than you can shake a light pen at.

So yes, I’m more than familiar with the latest cool programs and hip tools to use- Skype, IPhones, IPods, IMs, Tweeters, MySpaces, DVB, Wireless this….3D that….the list is endless. And then there’s…

Facebook.

And apparently, I don’t get it. Yes, I have a Facebook PROFILE. People have added me to theirs and I’ve added them to mine. All in the name of formal and informal ‘networking’ and ‘friendship’ and kinship’. No big deal. Yes my friends, there are lots and lots of pictures of FACES in Facebook.

But evidently, people aren’t content with networking using their ‘faces’. Sure enough, there are people who would rather put anything BUT their faces on Facebook.

On Dec. 27, some 11,000 protesters held a virtual nurse-in by uploading breast-feeding photos onto their Facebook profiles, and 20 or so women showed up at the company’s headquarters in Palo Alto, Calif., to breast-feed there. By Dec. 30, more than 85,000 members had joined a Facebook group called “Hey, Facebook, breastfeeding is not obscene!”

Ahem…um….look ladies- I’m ALL FOR breasts- I am. In fact, trust me, I’m quite fond of them.

The group, founded by San Diego mom Kelli Roman, urges Facebook to change its obscenity policy. “We expect you to realize that nursing moms everywhere have a right to show pictures of their babies eating, just like bottle-fed babies have a right to be seen,” their petition reads. “In an effort to appease the closed-minded, you are only serving to be detrimental to babies, women, and society.”

But there’s a time and place for everything. Exactly…WHAT is the big deal? There are countless places to show your breasts other than Facebook…if you feel so inclined. In fact, you can build a Blog or a Website and upload an endless stream of photos showing your breasts online if you want. Not good enough? Then shotgun a hyperlink or imbed a picture vis-a-vis an email to thousands of friends- so that they too- can enjoy seeing you breastfeeding your baby.

Heck…SEND ME A PHOTO. I’ll be glad to give you my email address. But for goodness sake, give Facebook a break.

When Tolerance Meets Stupidity

Posted by redsatellite on December 17, 2008

Just when I think I’ve seen it all or heard it all….I come across something like this.

The father of 3-year-old Adolf Hitler Campbell, denied a birthday cake with the child’s full name on it by one New Jersey supermarket, is asking for a little tolerance.

SAY WHAT?

You name your kid ADOLF HITLER Campbell and you’re asking for tolerance? So let me see if I have this straight- you’ve burdened your child with a name so infamous -so synonymous with INTOLERANCE- a name so reviled and hated because of the evil pathology associated with it- that you’re disappointed at how people are reacting?

You and your misguided anencephalic wife decide to give your child that name and now you want tolerance?

Heath Campbell and his wife, Deborah, are upset not only with the decision made by the nearby ShopRite, but also with an outpouring of angry Internet postings in response to a local newspaper article about the cake.

Heath Campbell, who is 35, said in an interview Tuesday that people should look forward, not back, and accept change.

You’ll be lucky if little Adolph makes it out of elementary school without getting his a** kicked- and now that I think about it-YOUR a** should be kicked for the horrible infamy you are placing on little Adolph.

“They need to accept a name. A name’s a name. The kid isn’t going to grow up and do what (Hitler) did,” he said.

A name’s a name? Oh really? Then why didn’t you name him: Cockadoodle-do, Susan, or Sonuva*****? What about the N word? How about you call him ‘Fire’? So the next time you shout his name in a crowded theater- we can arrest you.

You’re an idiot. You should be shot….and preferably by someone named Mother Teresa.
