This is the derangement of CNN and the Leftwing Media. Rather than headline reports on Barack Obama’s half-brother living in a hut in Africa or Barack’s aunt living on welfare and avoiding DEPORTATION– instead we get headlines on Sarah Palin’s relatively OBSCURE
Sherry Johnston, whose son is having a baby with the daughter of Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin, was arrested Thursday on drug charges, Alaska State Police said.
Deborah Miller, supervisor of the criminal department in the clerk’s office in Palmer, Alaska, told CNN that Sherry Johnston was released on bail and is scheduled to be arraigned January 6.
I’m glad that Ms. Miller TOLD CNN. Wouldn’t want CNN to miss out on any earth shattering news of national and international importance.

You kind of knew this was going to happen. What began with lofty promises of Hope and Change…of Love and Peace and Sunshine and Moonbeams…are ever so slowly…devolving. Yep. The liberal elite and the hard left were nothing short of EXUBERANT when Barack Obama won. Why…you’ve never heard such praise and celebration..such joy and adulation.
You would’ve thought we cured cancer.
So when Barack won, it was payback time. Payback for their undying passion and support. And they instantly expected – ney DEMANDED– that Obama start surrounding himself with loon after progressive loon. A White House full of nothing but liberal doves and social progressives.
Then Barack picked Hillary. Then he kept Robert Gates. And now? Now he’s picked conservative pastor and best selling author Rick Warren to lead the invocation at his own inauguration. And…
the liberals? Liberals do what they do best, they come UNHINGED.
Prominent liberal groups and gay rights proponents criticized President-elect Barack Obama Wednesday for choosing evangelical pastor Rick Warren to deliver the invocation at the presidential inauguration next month.
Warren, one of the most influential religious leaders in the nation, has championed issues such as a reduction of global poverty, human rights abuses and the AIDS epidemic.
But the founder of the Saddleback Church in Lake Forest, California, has also adhered to socially conservative stances- including his opposition to gay marriage and abortion rights that puts him at odds with many in the Democratic Party, especially the party’s most liberal wing.
Ruh roh. Is the honeymoon over?
People for the American Way President Kathryn Kolbert told CNN she is “deeply disappointed” with the choice of Warren and said the powerful platform at the inauguration should instead have been given to someone who has “consistent mainstream American values.”
“There is no substantive difference between Rick Warren and James Dobson,” Kolbert said. “The only difference is tone. His tone is moderate, but his ideas are radical.”
Hmmm…we seem to have a SERIOUS disconnect. FYI Ms. Kolbert- ‘Mainstream American values’ don’t include gay marriage and gay issues. Never have. Check out the voting results of every single state that has put gay marriage on an election ballot.
So who’s the ‘radical’ here Kimosabe?

what its worth, Barack Obama and his liberal
team of advisors are currently waking up to the cold hard reality
of the world. Heck…forget about Pakistan and India…or the Palestinians and Israel. Or for that matter…Somalia, Russia, or Afghanistan.
(Hmmm….now that I think about it….there are another 15 countries we should worry about- but I digress.)
Which brings us, specifically, to that illustrious rogue state
…Iran. If you remember, in our last episode, Obama was promising to meet with thugs like Mahmoud Ahmadinejad ‘unconditionally
Hmmm…that can’t be good. And certainly not after reading this
Experts warn Barack Obama of a nuclear Iran
Iran poses the greatest foreign policy challenge to Barack Obama, the President-elect, with Tehran on course to produce a nuclear bomb in the first year of an Obama administration, a coalition of top think-tanks gave warning yesterday.
If you recall liberals howled in righteous indignation when McCain was caught on camera singing a twisted version of a Beach Boys classic: “Bomb Bomb Bomb…Bomb Bomb Iran”. And yet, Obama faces a decision that could literally BLOW UP in his face…(Not to mention the millions of others.)
The warnings came in a report entitled Restoring the Balance. The Middle East strategy for the President-elect was drafted by the Council for Foreign Relations and the Brookings Institution.
Yah….well for-warned…is forarmed. Iran will have the bomb soon enough. And we are either going to have to bitch-slap them or let them have it.
So which is it?

Meanwhile, up in Minnesota….the recount for the Senate race continues. Only…Al Franken has managed to get INSIDE support from a Franken worker.
A woman who worked for Al Franken earlier this week during the Senate recount in one county ended up counting ballots as a nonpartisan volunteer here Saturday in a recount that grew heated at times.
Bob Westfall, who was in Breckenridge on Saturday as an observer for Norm Coleman, said he had concerns when members of his team learned a ballot counter had worked for Franken.
“I don’t understand how you can switch from being partisan one day to being neutral today,” Westfall said.
Neither do I pal. But then again….nothing like finding 32 votes in the trunk of a car AFTER election day- ALL 32 of them….for Franken.

Well…poor little liberals…what ARE you going to do? You elected THE ONE. As in …the one and only. He’s now bought and paid for.
Antiwar groups and other liberal activists are increasingly concerned at signs that Barack Obama’s national security team will be dominated by appointees who favored the Iraq invasion and hold hawkish views on other important foreign policy issues.
The activists are uneasy not only about signs that both Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton (D-N.Y.) and Defense Secretary Robert M. Gates could be in the Obama Cabinet, but at reports suggesting that several other short-list candidates for top security posts backed the decision to go to war.
Aww….cry me a Mekong Delta river. It’s horrible to wake up to the real world…..huh? Nothing like a steaming hot cup of REALITY.

I beg your pardon
I never promised you a rose garden
Along with the sunshine
There’s gotta be a little rain sometimes
When you take, you gotta give, so live and let live, Or let go
I beg your pardon
I never promised you a rose garden
I could promise you things like big diamond rings
But you don’t find roses growin’ on stalks of clover
So you better think it over
Well, if sweet-talkin’ you could make it come true
I would give you the world right now on a silver platter
But what would it matter
So smile for a while and let’s be jolly
Love shouldn’t be so melancholy
Come along and share the good times while we can
Ruh roh. Dark clouds….on the horizon. Barack Obama was suppose to put the CLAMP down on lobbyists. Yep. Remember, he was going to march in and clean up Washington. He said so- dammit…he promised!
Obama already struggling with lobbyist promises
“I am running to tell the lobbyists in Washington that their days of setting the agenda are over. They have not funded my campaign. They won’t work in my White House.”
Just this weekend The New York times published a list of names — a rather long list of names of people – who are working on Obama’s transition team or who have accepted jobs in his White House who are either former lobbyists or who have close ties to lobbyists.
The Times reports that some of those people were lobbying as recently as this year.
Hmmm….now wait just a Jack Abramoff minute…what’s going on here? Where’s the Hope and Change?
And it’s true, you could argue the reality of Washington and our government is that lobbyists are often the most informed people on a given issue. But we certainly never heard Obama articulate it quite that way when he was candidate Obama.
What he said then was:
“That’s what happens when lobbyists set the agenda and that’s why they won’t drown out your voices anymore when I am president of the United States of America.”
And that is a promise that he may already be struggling to keep.
Awwww…someone call a Wahhhhhhhhhhhhmbulance.

Liberals like Rich are having a field day. Long on pomposity, and short on intelligence, Frank Rich has been GLOATING since last Tuesday.
The Moose Stops Here
Election junkies in acute withdrawal need suffer no longer. Though the exciting Obama-McCain race is over, the cockfight among the losers has only just begun. The conservative crackup may be ugly, but as entertainment, it’s two thumbs up!
The Republicans are in serious denial. A few heretics excepted, they hope to blame all their woes on their unpopular president, the inept McCain campaign and their party’s latent greed for budget-busting earmarks.
The trouble is far more fundamental than that. The G.O.P. ran out of steam and ideas well before George W. Bush took office and Tom DeLay ran amok, and it is now more representative of 20th-century South Africa during apartheid than 21st-century America.
When I was growing up….I was taught…to be gracious in victory and gracious in defeat. Not only did Frank miss that memo…he skipped finishing school. So what does Frank do while WALLOWING in his self-righteous punditry?
He throws out the one falsehood….the one biggest libel….the fattest prevarication I’ve heard in this entire two year political campaign.
The icing on this rancid cake was the race-baiting of Obama…
You know…you can accuse Republicans of everything…you can accuse them of a host of ignominious traits and felonious behavior…but race-baiting?
Only a feckless fool with a complete disconnect from reality could say that. Absolutely vicious. I hope one day….my Karma runs over your Dogma.

If you want to work for the Obama team, you better be prepared to…’fess up’. Yah….so, if you snorted cocaine and smoked marijuana in college or you started hanging out with domestic terrorists, radicals, racists and convicted felons….you must confess.
Huh?….wait a minute, why do all of these transgressions sound so familiar- OH YAH, THAT’S RIGHT– Barack Obama wouldn’t be able to work for himself!
Is that a hoot?
If you want to work for President-elect Barack Obama’s administration, be prepared to spill almost everything there is to know about yourself.
The Obama transition team is sending a seven-page, 63-item questionnaire to every candidate for Cabinet and other high-ranking positions in the incoming administration.
Question 61 seems to have been prompted by the controversy over former 1960s radical William Ayres in Obama‘s campaign: “Have you had any association with any person, group or business venture that could be used – even unfairly – to impugn or attack your character or qualifications for government service?”
Unbelievable. Only in America can you work for a man who would FAIL with his own application. Oh and one other thing: Obama would’ve never been able to attain a top secret clearance in an industry working with the U.S. government. Ever.
I should know…..I have one.

Camille Paglia. Yes, a liberal woman with a cerebral cortex. (I know…scary huh?) She writes a column for Salon.com and actually articulates her side better than a dozen Maureen Dowds. Yesterday, she mused and ruminated about the presidential election and the potential fallout from liberal behavior and their horrendous treatment of Sarah Palin.
Liberal Democrats are going to wake up from their sadomasochistic, anti-Palin orgy with a very big hangover. The evil genie released during this sorry episode will not so easily go back into its bottle. A shocking level of irrational emotionalism and at times infantile rage was exposed at the heart of current Democratic ideology – contradicting Democratic core principles of compassion, tolerance and independent thought. One would have to look back to the Eisenhower 1950s for parallels to this grotesque lock-step parade of bourgeois provincialism, shallow groupthink and blind prejudice.
As for the Democrats who sneered and howled that Palin was unprepared to be a vice-presidential nominee – what navel-gazing hypocrisy! What protests were raised in the party or mainstream media when John Edwards, with vastly less political experience than Palin, got John Kerry’s nod for veep four years ago? And Gov. Kathleen Sebelius of Kansas, for whom I lobbied to be Obama’s pick and who was on everyone’s short list for months, has a record indistinguishable from Palin’s. Whatever knowledge deficit Palin has about the federal bureaucracy or international affairs (outside the normal purview of governors) will hopefully be remedied during the next eight years of the Obama presidencies.
Good God…a self-reflecting liberal that understands boorish behavior. I almost fell out of my computer chair. She’s actually ashamed of her brothers and sisters on the left. Amazing.

For the last 4 days I’ve heard nothing but eulogies for the Republican Party. (And not that they don’t deserve it.) But if you’ve been following my posts for any length of time, I predicted their complete demise months and months ago.
Yesterday, on FOX’s 6pm show, Chris Wallace posed the question to his panel…How can the Republicans ‘rebrand’ their party or ‘reinvent’ themselves to regain their power in government.
And the only one who got it right was Brit Hume. He told everyone that Republicans don’t have to ‘rebrand’ anything. If they would stick to their core tenets…the ones THEY ABANDONED and let liberal democrats shoot themselves in the head….(Yes, I’m paraphrasing…but this is a much more appropriate phrase)- a turn around could be swift.
George Bush, John McCain, and a host of Republican leaders abandoned those tenets and will now pay the price. Oh heck….who am I kidding….we’re ALL about to pay the price.
