Sen. John McCain has picked Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin as his running mate, a senior McCain campaign official told CNN on Friday.

And over and over.
A final draft of the Republican Party platform includes a first-ever plank on global warming that says human activity has contributed to climate change. “The same human activity that has brought freedom and opportunity to billions has also increased the amount of carbon in the atmosphere,” the draft reads. “Increased atmospheric carbon has a warming effect on the earth.”
It’s hard to believe this is the same party that produced Ronald Reagan. I’m sure Reagan would be stunned…nay- THUNDERSTRUCK- to learn that his party has endorsed one of the most cockamamie manufactured liberal causes of all time: Global Warming.
John McCain has embraced Amnesty. He has embraced campaign reform. Now John McCain has convinced the Republican Party to embrace Global Warming. Unfortunately, I wish John McCain had stayed home in Sedona, Arizona and embraced his beautiful wife Cindy. (Her warmth makes much more sense.)
The GOP platform was approved by a 112-person platform committee in Minneapolis, Minn., late on Wednesday and will likely be ratified at the Republican National Convention on Monday.
So at the very least- 57 RINO knuckleheads, led by McCain, have approved this…. TWADDLE.
And Republicans wonder why the Democrats are back in power.

The one TV channel that conservatives universally avoid….is MSNBC. It’s no secret. We’ve known for years that Keith Olbermann and most of the MSNBC staff are blatant leftwing loons disguised as ‘objective reporters’.
Gratefully…their silly pretense of objectivity is finally being exposed for what it really is: a quasi-news channel run by a bunch of pseudo-erudite liberals out of control.
Amid a spate of awkward on-air conflicts among MNSBC anchors at this week’s Democratic convention, some staff members say there are sharp internal disputes at the cable network over whether its opinion and personality-driven political coverage has crossed the line.
“The situation at our channel is about to blow up,” a high-ranking MSNBC journalist told Politico on Wednesday.
And let’s hope it does. (memo to Obama: that’s A CHANGE I can believe in!)
As replays of the conflicts became YouTube hits, MSNBC President Phil Griffin gave his first public defense in a Politico interview.
“MSNBC does not have an ideology,” Griffin said. “We hire smart people who are passionate about their love of politics and love of news.”
CNN, NBC, CBS……..all of you…be proud of your subjective reporting!

Laddy– what a great idea. An Irish bookie is laying odds on Obama. Only, it’s not what you think:
Irish bookmaker Paddy Power says Sen. Barrack Obama (D-Ill.) is the undisputed master of cliches this election season, and his well-known mantra — “Change” – is sure to show up in Thursday’s speech when he accepts the Democratic presidential nomination.
The odds are 10 to 1 it will, the Dublin-based oddsmaker said.
10 to 1? I think that’s wayyyyyyyyyyyyyy too generous. Figure more like…. 5 to 4 or 3 to 2.
Which of the following cliches will Obama mention first during his acceptance speech on Thursday? “I’m fired up” is Power’s favorite, at 6-to-1 odds, along with John F. Kennedy’s “Forgive your enemies, but never forget their names,” which is a less-likely 100-to-1 shot.
Other contenders, at 12-to-1 odds, include: “I’d like to thank my wife”; “as I stand here today”; “fundamental belief”; “defining moment”; and “God Bless America.”
Those are all good. But…’defining moment’? at….12 to 1? I need to call this guy. That’s my winner….I could make some fast money here.
At 14-to-1 odds — “let me be clear”; “war on terror”; “politics of hope”; and “common purpose.”
At 16-to-1, “crossroads of history”; “I have a dream”; “pursuit of happiness”; “I’m fired up” and “building a better America.”
At 25-to-1, there’s “we cannot lose hope” -and at 100-to-1, “an eye for an eye only winds up making the whole world blind.”
Wait!…I’ve change my mind. I like that ‘building a better America’. And I’d get BETTER ODDS too.

All together now!
I’ve just closed my eyes again
Climbed aboard the dream weaver train
Driver take away my worries of today
And leave tomorrow behind
With apologies to Gary Wright, apparently Michelle Obama wants us to join her- in her dream.
After an emotional speech by an ailing Sen. Edward M. Kennedy, the face of the Democratic Party shifted on Monday night to a new generation of leaders, as Michelle Obama opened the Democratic National Convention with a tribute to her husband and a call to the country to listen “to our hopes instead of our fears,” and “to stop doubting and to start dreaming.”
Uh…NO THANKS. Even more impressive, Michelle evidently has convinced ailing Ted Kennedy to live her dream:
“The work begins anew. The hope rises again, and the dream lives on,” he said, echoing his speech from the 1980 Democratic convention, in which he was denied the party’s nomination.
You know- all this hoping and dreaming- has left me more giddy than back-to-back expressos! But the truth is: Barack and Michelle Obama’s dream….will be a NIGHTMARE for all Americans. And in what may be the most disturbing quote since….well since…John Kerry last opened his mouth….Bitchelle Obama adds:
“…we committed ourselves to building the world as it should be.”
Uh…Michelle…do us all a favor….leave ‘building the world’ to city planners, architects, developers, and construction workers. Do not- under any circumstances– share your twisted dream- much less reveal it. Now shut your racist piehole….
…and let’s HOPE you go back to sleep.

Denver, Colorado, the site of the Democratic convention beginning Monday, will find itself as Hollywood East.
At both conventions, the nonpartisan Creative Coalition will lead the way. The organization is devoted to arts advocacy, as well as issues such as health care and affordable housing, and will have a number of celebrities on hand, including Paltrow, Norton, Warren Beatty, Dana Delany and Matthew Modine.
Creative Coalition Executive Director Robin Bronk told The Hollywood Reporter that the organization was determined to present some steak with its celebrity sizzle.
“We have a great track record of bringing substance with splash,” she said.
But splash is what will probably be in photographers’ viewfinders. According to media reports, other stars planning to come to Denver include Susan Sarandon, Scarlett Johansson (who told CNN she “wasn’t exactly sure” she’d be going but has made no secret of her support for Barack Obama), Ben Affleck, Matt Damon, Anne Hathaway and Forest Whitaker.
It is SO IRRITATING to find out that someone I really like is not only supporting Barack Obama- but openly so– and in my face about it. I know….I know…I need to learn to separate their work from their belief system.
But when I learn that Scarlett Johansson and Bruce Springsteen are completely DEVOID of reason and acumen…it bums me out.

Have you stopped howling yet? I mean….was that rich? Obama introducing Joseph Biden as the next PRESIDENT!
Presumptive Democratic presidential nominee Barack Obama introduced Sen. Joe Biden to the nation as his running mate Saturday, telling supporters that he is “a leader who is ready to step in and be president.”
“Today, I’ve come back to Springfield to tell you I’ve found that leader,” he said.
The McCain campaign quickly pounced Obama for introducing Biden as “the next president of the United States” before quickly correcting himself to say “vice president.”
Leave it to the leftwing bunch at CNN.communist to NOT use the Obama quote directly- and let it stand on its own. No…they bury the quote- a gaffe of EPIC PROPORTIONS– inside a sentence that then points to McCain and his campaign- implying that he and his supporters are political opportunists.
Barack America? Yesterday was…. a Gaffe-FEST.

Apparently, the IOC – that regal body of UN wannabes- has decided to investigate the ages of the Chinese gymnasts afterall. Don’t worry…the speed of their response didn’t challenge Usain Bolt. It only took the intense scrutiny of the ENTIRE WORLD and the non-stop exposure from the international press to finally compel them to get off- their dead a**.
I mean…gee…call me prescient….but I knew the Chinese gymnast, He Kexin wasn’t 16, when I saw her reaching for her coloring book.
The International Olympic Committee asked the world governing body for gymnastics to investigate whether members of the Chinese women’s team were too young to compete in the Olympics.According to online sports registration lists in China, half the team — He Kexin, Yang Yilin, Jiang Yuyuan — would be underage. The [International gymnastics federation] F.I.G., however, has said that those gymnasts were eligible and that the ages on their passports were correct.
I want you to look at this picture. SERIOUSLY. Look at it.
If she’s 16 years old- I’m Winnie the Pooh.

I get that we need alternative energy sources. I do. But the reality of some of these solutions- like Mayor Bloomberg’s and T. Boone Picken’s vision– are ridiculous. With Bloomberg: at least he’s having second thoughts.
Mayor Michael Bloomberg is backing off his suggestion to put windmills on city bridges and rooftops after newspapers mocked the idea with photo illustrations of turbines on the Brooklyn Bridge and the Empire State Building.
“There are aesthetic considerations,” Bloomberg said. “No. 2, I have absolutely no idea whether that makes any sense from a scientific, from a practical point of view.”
Gee…Ya think? (Yes…it’s comforting to know that billionaires like Oprah Winfrey, T. Boone Pickens, and Michael Bloomberg can be stupid too.)
If you’ve ever been to Palm Springs, Ca like I have…you’ll know what I mean. Hundreds of huge windmills dot the Coachella Valley – meandering to and fro, up and down the desert floor- ERASING any vestiges of the desert’s natural beauty.
Trust me…it’s a complete blight on the landscape….urban OR rural.
