Spanky and Our Crew

Posted by redsatellite on April 30, 2008

Yep. Political Correctness has reared its ugly head….again. Instead of Kool and the Gang…from now on, I guess it has to be: Kool and the Crew. No more Gangsta’ Rap, it has to be- Crewsta’ Rap. Gangbangers will now be called crewbangers.

Yes-officials in Washington DC have lost their minds.

D.C. officials insist on describing groups of young males as “crews,” rather than gangs, even when they are held responsible for violent acts such as the wave of killings in the city last weekend. But police officials in other cities say the distinction is counterproductive.“The very first step in dealing with gangs is denial,” said Capt. Charles Bloom of the Philadelphia Police Department. “Then you get to the point that you can’t deny it any more.”

D.C. police, lawmakers and community activists say the groups are not gangs because their members are mostly teens who band together for personal protection. That, they say, distinguished them from conventional gangs, which are created for a criminal enterprise such as drug dealing.

Oh brother. Another spurious use of the English Language. (Can you say insurgent?)

There seem to be several street crews that are feuding,” said D.C. Council member Phil Mendelson, at-large Democrat, who heads the council’s public safety committee.

I’m telling you..the whole world has gone mad. So does this mean- those groups who USE TO BE CREWS- are now gangs? Stands to reason doesn’t it? For example: a captain of a ship always had a crew’. Now the captain has a GANG? Oh, and I guess I won’t be getting a ‘crewcut’ any longer.

Hey barber: make that a gangcut will ya?

The Gift That Keeps On Giving

Posted by redsatellite on April 29, 2008

Reverend Wright. If you’re a Republican, you want this guy to NEVER go away. Keep talking. Keep opening that big fat hateful mouth. Liberals have really shot themselves in the head this time. Every word out of Wright’s mouth will be used in the fall against Obama- count on it. You can bet conservative 527 groups will use them.

And that’s whether McCain likes it or not.

Sen. Barack Obama again sought to distance himself from the Rev. Jeremiah A. Wright Jr. yesterday after his former pastor capped a weekend media offensive with an appearance in Washington in which he revisited many of his most controversial comments.

Well Obama lama ding dong- you had TWENTY years to distance yourself. A little late now…don’t you think? That’s what happens when you hang out a church where YOUR pastor spews racism and hatred non stop.

Wright continued: “You cannot do terrorism on other people and expect it never to come back on you. Those are biblical principles, not Jeremiah Wright bombastic, divisive principles.”

Wright also restated the idea that HIV was invented as a weapon against minority communities, had kind words for
Nation of Islam leader Louis Farrakhan and railed against American imperialism.

Truly the gift that keeps on giving.

Originalism

Posted by redsatellite on April 28, 2008

U.S. Supreme Court Justice Antonin Scalia was on 60 Minutes last night. Unfortunately, there is only ONE Justice Scalia. I wish there were 8 more.

At 72, Justice Scalia is still a maverick, championing a philosophy known as “orginalism,” which means interpreting the Constitution based on what it originally meant to the people who ratified it over 200 years ago. Scalia has no patience with so-called activist judges, who create rights not in the Constitution- like a right to abortion -by interpreting the Constitution as a “living document” that adapts to changing values.

He’s on a mission as an evangelist for originalism, at home and around the world. For example, he visited the Oxford Union in England. “Sometimes people come up to me and inquire, ‘Justice Scalia, when did you first become an originalist?’ As though it’s some weird affliction, you know, ‘When did you start eating human flesh?'” Scalia told students, who replied with laughter.

After listening to Scalia….I need to take a fresh approach in my enmity- my animus towards liberals.

“I attack ideas. I don’t attack people. And some very good people have some very bad ideas,” Scalia says. “And if you can’t separate the two, you gotta get another day job. You don’t want to be a judge. At least not a judge on a multi-member panel.”

I’ve got to remember that: there are ‘some very good people’ who have ‘some very bad ideas’. Now, could I apply that pragmatic goodwill to a John Kerry or a Howard Dean or an Al Gore?

Um…..on second thought, Justice Scalia is a better man than me.

Global Warming Rages Through Napa Valley

Posted by redsatellite on April 25, 2008

It has happened again. My God…what will become of us all. Heavens to Chardonnay…it truly is: The Grapes of Wrath.

The worst spring cold snap in more than 30 years is threatening to wreak havoc on the wine industry as three recent days of frost have killed grapevine buds up and down the crucial North Coast vineyard region.

So far, grape growers estimate that as much as 10 percent of their crops could be lost, an unusual occurrence in an industry that hasn’t seen a significant spring frost since the early 1970s.

If the earth continues to heat up this fast…I won’t be able to buy a domestic bottle of Cabernet for another 30 years.

The most damage to vines took place March 31 and last Saturday and Sunday, when temperatures dipped below the freezing point of 32 degrees to as low as 27 degrees throughout the region.

Hey…I’m saving energy!…I won’t have to refrigerate the Chenin Blanc.

Moral Responsibility: Take Two

Posted by redsatellite on April 24, 2008

Everyone of us…each and every day makes a varitable COMPENDIUM of choices. A few will be moral, but blessedly, most will be trivial and unimportant in the grand scheme of life.

Then there are these types:

Alexander Letkemann, 18, of Westland, was sentenced to 20-30 years in prison for his role in what prosecutors have labeled the “thrill kill” of Daniel Sorensen, 26. Letkemann took a plea deal last month and testified against Jean Pierre Orlewicz, who was found guilty of first-degree murder in Sorensen’s killing.

During sentencing, Wayne County Circuit Judge Annette Berry called in beyond comprehension that Letkemann knew about the planned killing, helped prepare for it, did nothing to stop it and did not report it after it happened. “This was a premeditated, calculated act of nothing short of violence, sadistic pleasure,” Berry said. “How is it, sir? Help us understand.”

Letkemann, answering in a low voice, could only offer that his mind froze. He could not explain it.

Your mind FROZE? A murder that was premediated, planned and carried out over a period of days and your mind froze for the entire period?

Two others knew about the planned killing of Sorensen and did nothing to stop it. One got immunity from prosecution in exchange for his testimony. The judge, however, said they all should have been charged.

ABSOLUTELY charged. That makes a total of 3 young people who could’ve saved a 26 year old man’s life. They did nothing. Nada.

These kinds of moral decisions are what I call- no brainers. And no, you don’t have to be a Christian or a Jew or a Buddhist to step in. But you do have to have a basic sense of right and wrong, moral and immoral, good and evil.

In this tragedy, they chose: Wrong, Immoral, and Evil. Now there’s a trifecta. 20 to 30 years in prison should be sufficient time for Letkemann’s mind to THAW!

Who’s Fault Is It?

Posted by redsatellite on April 23, 2008

Okay class, let’s see how you do. Wait. Those of you who blurted out Global Warming as the answer BEFORE being asked who’s fault it was….

Damn…you’re good.

I am so proud of you- you’ve caught on quick! For the rest of you slow learners, whenever someone is looking to blame- point fingers at….find fault with…or place responsibility on- the answer is ALWAYS Global Warming. Here, let me give you an example….

Who will be responsible for the next World War? No…silly…not North Korea…not Iran…and for you liberals who said George Bush- no….you should have said….Global Warming.

Climate change could cause global conflicts as large as the two world wars but lasting for centuries unless the problem is controlled, a leading defense think tank has warned.

Heck…I’m just WARMING up. How about….drowning Polar Bears? Genocide in Darfur? California Fires? Bad Investments? Bottled Water? Speeding Tickets?

Had enough?

So from now on….when the CBS Evening News comes on….and Katie Couric brings you news of famine, pestilence, riots, stock market crashes, home invasions, interest rate hikes, housing foreclosures, homicides…..blown tires at the Indy 500…or even a heartwarming story about how Johnny misplayed a fly ball in centerfield during his Little League Game….Who’s fault was it?

Yes. It was, and will be: Global Warming.

Los Angeles: The Next Third World City

Posted by redsatellite on April 22, 2008

Better believe it. And I love it that liberals agree with me. Of course, their ‘fix’ will ignore the reason they got us into this mess. And yes, it will also be, the WRONG fix.

Los Angeles is at the leading edge of a U.S. demographic trend, with half of its workforce immigrants, many of them unskilled and speaking little English. As baby boomers retire, the same pattern will emerge across the country, the Los Angeles Times reported Sunday. Demographers estimate that by 2025 most of the growth in the workforce will be from immigrants. Ernesto Cortes Jr., Southwest regional director of the Industrial Areas Foundation, said Los Angeles is at a crossroads.”The question is: Are we going to be a 21st century city with shared prosperity, or a Third World city with an elite group on top and the majority at poverty or near poverty wages?” he asked.

Right now we’re headed toward becoming a Third World city. But we can change that.”

Well Mr. Cortes Junior, you would be ‘Grande’ wrong. You can’t ‘change that’, not unless you introduce massive CONSERVATIVE corrective measures. Measures like:

1. Seal the borders.
2. Build a wall.
3. Kick every illegal out of the country….all 11 million of them. And if they don’t leave- hunt them down and deport them or put them in jail.
4. Shut down every business that even THINKS of employing an illegal.
5. Those of the 11 million who still wish to immigrate to the United States- have them stand in line, just like everyone else.

Sounds Draconian?

Yep. Unfortunately, that is your only hope.

The Migration Policy Institute used U.S. Census data to determine that one-third of immigrants have not graduated from high school and 60 percent do not speak English fluently.

Gee…what a shocker. You made your bed, now lie in it.

When You Lie Down with Dogs, You Wake Up with Fleas

Posted by redsatellite on April 17, 2008

Reuters is at it again. And their deception, as usual, is at an all time high. Yesterday, they lost a cameraman in Gaza to an Israeli attack on Hamas. So naturally, those awful Israelis are completely to blame:

Israeli shell killed Reuters cameraman: Gaza doctors

A medical examination showed on Thursday that metal darts from an Israeli tank shell that explodes in the air caused the death of a Reuters cameraman killed a day earlier in the Gaza Strip, doctors said.X-rays displayed by physicians who examined the body of Fadel Shana in Gaza’s Shifa hospital showed several of the controversial weapons, known as flechettes, embedded in the 23-year-old Palestinian’s chest and legs.

Shana was covering events in the Hamas-controlled Gaza Strip for Reuters on a day of intense violence when 16 other Palestinians and three Israeli soldiers were also killed.

“The markings on Fadel Shana’s vehicle showed clearly and unambiguously that he was a professional journalist doing his duty. We and the military must work together urgently to understand why this tragedy took place and how similar incidents can be avoided in the future,” Schlesinger added.

Uh wait just doggone Arafat minute. Did someone say the cameraman was Palestinian? He is a Palestinian, ostensibly working for Reuters, and he’s HANGING OUT WITH Hamas?

Several hundred people, mainly local journalists, marched in Shana’s funeral procession on Thursday. His body was draped in a Palestinian flag and his shattered camera and flak jacket were borne aloft on a separate stretcher.

I’m sure he and his fellow ‘journalists’ were reporting for Reuters OBJECTIVELY. Ignored in all of this- of course– is the fact that Mr. Shana was traveling with Hamas….and Israel was responding to an earlier premeditated AMBUSH by Hamas. An attack that killed 3 Israeli soldiers!

Whatdya expect Einstein? You’re a Palestinian traveling with Hamas. They’ve just ambushed and killed 3 Israelis. So, UNDERSTANDABLY, Israel responds with force. Any culpability on your part? Yes.

Unequivocally.
