It’s Summer, Get Out The “Slip-n-Slide”

Posted by zaphriel on June 22, 2007

As temperatures raise it seems the Dems approval rating is plumeting like a downhill slip-n-slide.

Poll: Americans Give Democratic Congress All-Time Low Rating

Democrats pledged to take Congress in a new direction when it won control in November 2006, but less than six months after taking the reins, Americans aren’t pleased with the results, giving lawmakers an all-time low public confidence rating.

Americans rank the most confidence in the military, with the least confidence in HMOs and Congress, when asked about 16 societal institutions.

Interesting, socialized medicine’s prototype, and the pushers of socialism are taking a beating. Welcome to the morning after.

Liberal Talk Radio and Other Extinct Birds

Posted by Mark on June 22, 2007

Liberals. Can’t live with them, can’t neuter them.

If you’ve missed the ‘talk radio’ BRUHAHA, let me give you an update. A few days ago, Senator Trent Lott opened up his big fat RINO mouth and determined that “Talk radio is running America. We have to deal with that problem.” Naturally the liberals loved hearing that one. Knowing that the comment implied- it was CONSERVATIVE talk radio running America not liberal talk radio.

And liberals being….well liberals, never pass up an opportunity to cry like teenage girls when given a chance.

Charging that “right-wing talk reigns supreme on America’s airwaves,” two liberal groups on Thursday called for increased government regulation and greater diversity of commercial radio station owners to “close the gap” between the amount of conservative and “progressive” talk.

Nothing like a little socialism to level the playing field I always say.

“There’s very little free speech and free choice in a market system that pushes one-sided information 90 percent of the time,” said John Halpin, a senior fellow with the Center for American Progress (CAP) and one of the authors of a new report, entitled “The Structural Imbalance of Political Talk Radio.”

According to Halpin, these surveys produced several key findings:

-In the spring of 2007, of the 257 news/talk stations owned by the top five commercial station owners, 91 percent of the total weekday talk radio programming was conservative and only nine percent progressive;

-Each weekday, 2,570 hours and 15 minutes of conservative talk are broadcast on these stations, compared to 254 hours of progressive talk;

-A total of 76 percent of the news/talk programming in the top 10 radio markets is conservative, while 24 percent is progressive, including the recently relaunched Air America network; and

– In four of the top 10 markets – Dallas, Houston, Philadelphia and Atlanta – progressive talk is broadcast only two hours or less each weekday.

Uh…Mr. Halpin, unless you left your brain at the last traffic light, it’s all about ratings and selling ad space. The more audience you have, the more ad revenue you generate. And if you can’t sell ads and MAKE A PROFIT, you’re gone. Did it ever occur to you that liberals can’t compete?

Of course not.

A liberal’s idea of capitalism, is to take my paycheck and give it to everyone else. And now they want to take a conservative’s airtime and GIVE IT TO EVERYONE ELSE. Notice a pattern here?

The fundamental differences between liberals and conservatives are SO PROFOUND, that no amount of dialogue, debate, or exchange will ever- and I do mean ever- bridge the gap. I should know, I once wore the liberal apron. But then, I was 18 years old at the time. And as the French EX-SOCIALIST Aristide Briand once said:

Any man who is under 30, and is not a liberal, has no heart; and any man who is over 30, and is not a conservative, has no brains. (Abridged, 1906)
