A Dialogue for the September 12th World

And I Predicted it.

When you come into power, slim as it is, and you don’t even have a unified or even feasible plan to run things this sort of thing is bound to happen.

Democrats Lose Their Edge

Poll Shows Congressional Approval Ratings Have Returned to Pre-Election Levels
The Democrats in Congress have lost much of the leadership edge they carried out of the 2006 midterm election, with the lack of progress in Iraq being the leading cause. Their only solace: President Bush and the Republicans aren’t doing any better.

It’s one thing to say everything is wrong, it’s quite another to actually do something about it. While the “sky is falling” method of power grabbing worked, it is now backfiring. People are ticked off because they are sick of hearing everything is wrong. They don’t want to hear it anymore, they just want it fixed. The lesson to be learned here, on both sides of the aisle, is HAVE A PLAN. A workable PLAN. Stop the bickering and infighting and listen to the people. We are being left with scant possibilities of real action. So far all of our options don’t actually match the will of the majority of the nation. I truly believe the iron is hot for a third party to step in, but none is organized enough to do it. We want change, not lunacy. We want peace, not defeat. We want to see our lives get better, not more inhibited. We want the government to govern, not control us. Get out of my house, get out of my bedroom, and most of all get out of my paycheck.

What we need is for a candidate to step forward as a uniter, a unifier. I sure hope he or she shows up soon. This want for a new option explains the Thompson Effect and the Giuliani Momentum. They are non standard politicians, possibly what we need. I am still undecided and watching very carefully.
