America the Beautiful

Posted by Mark on June 30, 2007

Sometimes the irony of life is so rich, you can’t put a price tag on it. You just can’t. News flash: Apparently, Michael Moore was bumped from the Larry King show the other night. For a bigger – more famous, MORE IMPORTANT guest. Yep………Paris Hilton.

Filmmaker Michael Moore said he was barred from the New York Stock Exchange on Thursday for an interview on his documentary on the U.S. health-care system, a day after he was bumped from a national TV interview to make way for Paris Hilton.

Standing outside the Stock Exchange in Manhattan’s financial district, Moore told reporters a planned interview with CNBC on the exchange floor was moved outside the building because the network told him the exchange would not let him inside.

On Wednesday, his appearance on CNN’s “Larry King Live” was postponed for the first post-jail interview with Hilton, a reality TV star and hotel heiress. Moore is now scheduled to appear on the show on Friday night.

“Having been bumped from Larry King last night for Paris Hilton, I am beginning to take things personally,” said Moore, whose film “SiCKO” — which criticizes corporate interests behind the U.S. health-care system — opens on Friday. “The priorities in this country are seriously askew.”

Seriously askew? Uh, let me see if I have this right…

You’re a liberal moonbat and quasi-socialist who decides to violate U.S. law and the U.S. State Department and fly to Cuba. You take a few sick 9/11 Ground Zero victims with you in an effort to compare superior Cuban socialized medicine with the horrible medical care system we have. When you finish, you run around promoting it- knowing millions of Americans will pay money to go see your movie. Afterall, we all want to know how disastrous life is, here in America, and can’t wait to fork over 10 bucks to find out.

Meanwhile, vacuous socialite and poor misunderstood Paris Hilton gets released from her 2 week stay in jail. Larry King chooses to interview Paris and hear her sob story RATHER THAN listen to a 1 hour non-stop promo of your attack on American health care.

Decisions, decisions!

So then, you decide to pimp your movie on CNBC on the floor of the NY Stock Exchange. Of course, you fail to tell anyone at the exchange that you want to VISIT. When the NYSE doesn’t allow you to enter, you scream to the world, that our ‘priorities are seriously askew’!

Yep. Got it.

Ding Dong…..

Posted by Mark on June 28, 2007

The Senate drove a stake Thursday through President Bush’s plan to legalize millions of unlawful immigrants, likely postponing major action on immigration until after the 2008 elections.

The bill’s supporters fell 14 votes short of the 60 needed to limit debate and clear the way for final passage of the legislation, which critics assailed as offering amnesty to illegal immigrants. The vote was 46 to 53 in favor of limiting the debate.

Diverse Supreme Court Says No to Diversity

Posted by Mark on June 28, 2007

Every now and then a blind squirrel finds an acorn. And every now and then, conservatives win one.

The U.S. Supreme Court on Thursday struck down public school choice plans in Seattle, Washington, and Louisville, Kentucky, concluding they relied on an unconstitutional use of racial criteria, in a sharply worded pair of cases reflecting the deep legal and social divide over the issue of skin color and education.

A conservative majority led by Chief Justice John Roberts said other means besides race considerations should be used to achieve diversity in schools.

“The way to stop discrimination on the basis of race is to stop discrimination on the basis of race,” he wrote.

It’s a Wonder They Can Think At All

Posted by Mark on June 27, 2007

Years of diversity training, political correctness, and socialist dogma results in this:

Young Americans are more likely than the general public to favor a government-run universal health care insurance system, an open-door policy on immigration and the legalization of gay marriage, according to a New York Times/CBS News/MTV poll.

High Schools and colleges all across America are hammering the liberal mantra into our kids, and for years they have to sit there and take it. Now comes word, that young kids are leaning left?

What a shocker!

It found that substantially more Americans ages 17 to 29 than four years ago are paying attention to the presidential race. But they appeared to be really familiar with only two of the candidates, Senators Barack Obama and Hillary Rodham Clinton, both Democrats.

Uh….gee….17 or 18 candidates and 2 parties. And they only know Obama and Clinton? With apologies to Paul Simon- It’s a wonder they can think at all.

Amnesty is Back On The Table

Posted by Mark on June 26, 2007

Just when you thought it was safe to speak English again- uh…NOT SO FAST amigo!

Two and a half weeks after the push for immigration reform collapsed on Capitol Hill, the Senate today narrowly voted to revive the controversial legislation. The procedural vote passed 64 to 35, just four votes over the 60 required.

The move doesn’t guarantee that a law to change national policy on the millions of legal and illegal immigrants will follow, but the much anticipated action breathed new life into a legislative campaign deemed vital to President Bush and the Senate Democratic leadership, both of which worked hard to round up the votes to resuscitate the congressional immigration debate.

Sonuva…..! Or is that ‘hijo de madre absuelto’ ? Ah…jeez, I forget which.

Twenty-four Republicans joined 39 Democrats and one independent in voting to begin debate; 24 Republicans, 9 Democrats and one independent voted no.

Those 24 should be shot. And I don’t mean a shot of Tequila.

What Appeasement Gets You

Posted by Mark on June 25, 2007

If you ever want to know how effective appeasement is- ask the British Broadcasting Company…the BBC…aka…the ‘Beeb’. Kissing up to the Palestinians has been a full time job for most everyone who works there. Well….guess what?…that and an RPG will get you nowhere:

The family and colleagues of Alan Johnston, a BBC reporter kidnapped by Islamists in Gaza, urged his captors on Monday not to harm him after he appeared in a video wearing what he said was an explosive belt.

In the fashionable Gaza strip, wearing an ‘explosive belt’ is all the rage. (emphasis on RAGE)

Liberal media giants like the BBC, CBS, and the NY Times are absolutely and completely clueless about Islamic jihad. Unfortunately, it is going to take more than Alan Johnston or Daniel Pearl to wake these pathetically pampered moonbats UP.

Johnston’s captors say they want Britain to free Muslim prisoners, particularly Islamist cleric Abu Qatada, in exchange for the reporter’s release.

Uh- huh, freeing a cleric- that should do the trick. The endless kidnapping, bombing, terror, mayhem, death, destruction, anarchy, holy war, raping, burning, pillaging, killing, executions, murders, homicides…..

Yah…appeasement, that’ll put AN END to it.

Chemical Ali Will Learn the Properties of ROPE

Posted by Mark on June 24, 2007

Uh….Ali, I’ve got some bad news for youor is that bad NOOSE?

An Iraq court on Sunday sentenced three former aides to Saddam Hussein, including the man known as “Chemical Ali,” to death by hanging for their role in a 1980s genocide campaign that that killed up to 100,000 Kurds.

Ali Hassan al-Majid, Hussein’s first cousin, earned his nickname for atrocities committed in a military campaign code-named Operation Anfal during the 1980-88 Iraq-Iran war.

In the scorched earth attacks, poisonous gas and chemicals were used against the Kurds.

Sorry Ali…time to say goodbye.. Buh-BYE.

Bottled Water Causes Global Warming

Posted by Mark on June 23, 2007

I know I should leave the issue of Global Warming alone….but…I just can’t. The proproganda from the left is RELENTLESS. You can not pick up a paper or read a newspaper online without their obligatory reminder- it is INUNDATING. It is massive in scope and FEROCITY. There is no escaping the constant cacophony.

Citing environmental concerns, Mayor Gavin Newsom has issued an executive order prohibiting city departments from buying bottled water. In a decision announced Thursday, Newsom said the ban would take effect July 1 and extend to all city and county water coolers by Dec. 1.

Tony Winnicker, spokesman for the San Francisco Public Utilities Commission, said Newsom’s decision would save taxpayer money and combat global warming.

See what I mean? The other day, I told you that Global Warming caused the genocide in Darfur. Today, it’s bottled water.

Mark my words, one day soon….the NY Times will announce that the massive immigration problem we face, has been a direct result of illegal aliens fleeing the OPPRESSIVE heat of Mexico for the chill and cool of the United States.

I’m serious.

It’s Summer, Get Out The “Slip-n-Slide”

Posted by zaphriel on June 22, 2007

As temperatures raise it seems the Dems approval rating is plumeting like a downhill slip-n-slide.

Poll: Americans Give Democratic Congress All-Time Low Rating

Democrats pledged to take Congress in a new direction when it won control in November 2006, but less than six months after taking the reins, Americans aren’t pleased with the results, giving lawmakers an all-time low public confidence rating.

Americans rank the most confidence in the military, with the least confidence in HMOs and Congress, when asked about 16 societal institutions.

Interesting, socialized medicine’s prototype, and the pushers of socialism are taking a beating. Welcome to the morning after.

Liberal Talk Radio and Other Extinct Birds

Posted by Mark on June 22, 2007

Liberals. Can’t live with them, can’t neuter them.

If you’ve missed the ‘talk radio’ BRUHAHA, let me give you an update. A few days ago, Senator Trent Lott opened up his big fat RINO mouth and determined that “Talk radio is running America. We have to deal with that problem.” Naturally the liberals loved hearing that one. Knowing that the comment implied- it was CONSERVATIVE talk radio running America not liberal talk radio.

And liberals being….well liberals, never pass up an opportunity to cry like teenage girls when given a chance.

Charging that “right-wing talk reigns supreme on America’s airwaves,” two liberal groups on Thursday called for increased government regulation and greater diversity of commercial radio station owners to “close the gap” between the amount of conservative and “progressive” talk.

Nothing like a little socialism to level the playing field I always say.

“There’s very little free speech and free choice in a market system that pushes one-sided information 90 percent of the time,” said John Halpin, a senior fellow with the Center for American Progress (CAP) and one of the authors of a new report, entitled “The Structural Imbalance of Political Talk Radio.”

According to Halpin, these surveys produced several key findings:

-In the spring of 2007, of the 257 news/talk stations owned by the top five commercial station owners, 91 percent of the total weekday talk radio programming was conservative and only nine percent progressive;

-Each weekday, 2,570 hours and 15 minutes of conservative talk are broadcast on these stations, compared to 254 hours of progressive talk;

-A total of 76 percent of the news/talk programming in the top 10 radio markets is conservative, while 24 percent is progressive, including the recently relaunched Air America network; and

– In four of the top 10 markets – Dallas, Houston, Philadelphia and Atlanta – progressive talk is broadcast only two hours or less each weekday.

Uh…Mr. Halpin, unless you left your brain at the last traffic light, it’s all about ratings and selling ad space. The more audience you have, the more ad revenue you generate. And if you can’t sell ads and MAKE A PROFIT, you’re gone. Did it ever occur to you that liberals can’t compete?

Of course not.

A liberal’s idea of capitalism, is to take my paycheck and give it to everyone else. And now they want to take a conservative’s airtime and GIVE IT TO EVERYONE ELSE. Notice a pattern here?

The fundamental differences between liberals and conservatives are SO PROFOUND, that no amount of dialogue, debate, or exchange will ever- and I do mean ever- bridge the gap. I should know, I once wore the liberal apron. But then, I was 18 years old at the time. And as the French EX-SOCIALIST Aristide Briand once said:

Any man who is under 30, and is not a liberal, has no heart; and any man who is over 30, and is not a conservative, has no brains. (Abridged, 1906)
