Economy Keeps Rolling Along Despite the Liberal Lies

Posted by Mark on November 30, 2006

If you recall, the rhetoric being spewed from various demo-bats, loons, and moonbats running up to the November election had the U.S. economy in the tank and teetering on disaster.

“Republican economic policies have favored the privileged few at the expense of America’s middle-class families,” House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi, D-Calif., said in a memorandum issued Monday.

“In many parts of the country, families are living paycheck to paycheck, struggling to make ends meet and going deeper into debt because of the high cost of health care, energy, food, housing or education.

Hmmm…I guess yesterday’s report is a freak of nature then:

The U.S. economy grew faster than previously thought from July through September, as consumers and businesses boosted their spending enough to more than offset the downturn in the housing market.

The nation’s gross domestic product, or the value of goods and services produced, rose at a 2.2 percent annual rate during those three months, the Commerce Department said today. The government had earlier estimated the figure at 1.6 percent, which would have been the weakest pace in more than three years.

So Nancy, you dim-witted extreme makeover wannabe- it takes more than a ‘privileged few’ to boost the ENTIRE United States economy. Uh…newsflash Ms. Facelift- if you are ‘consuming’- you are hardly STRUGGLING. Liberals wouldn’t understand a BASIC economic paradigm…

…if it hit them in their Louis Vuitton pocketbooks.

All 12 Million Illegal Aliens, Please Raise Your ‘Mano Derecha’

Posted by Mark on November 10, 2006

And repeat after me.

“I, (and the 12 million states his or her name), “Hereby declare, on oath, that I absolutely and entirely renounce and abjure all allegiance and fidelity to any foreign prince, potentate, state or sovereignty, of whom or which I have heretofore been a subject or citizen;

“That I will support and defend the Constitution and laws of the United States of America against all enemies, foreign and domestic;

“That I will bear true faith and allegiance to the same; “That I will bear arms on behalf of the United States when required by the law;

“That I will perform noncombatant service in the Armed Forces of the United States when required by the law;

“That I will perform work of national importance under civilian direction when required by the law; and that I take this obligation freely without any mental reservation or purpose of evasion:

“So help me God.”

In the last 24 hours, Bush has unloaded Rumsfeld, agreed to a minimum wage hike and now this…..

…..AMNESTY

President Bush yesterday said he will team up with Democrats to pass an immigration bill with a guest-worker program that his own party blocked this year, and his Republican opponents predicted a bloody intraparty fight but said they cannot stop such a bill from passing.

“We will fight it, we will lose. It will go to the Senate, it will pass. The president will sign it. And it will happen quickly because that’s one thing they know they can pass,” said Rep. Tom Tancredo, Colorado Republican and chairman of the House Immigration Reform Caucus, who had led the opposition to a guest-worker plan.

“I am absolutely horrified by this prospect, but I have to face reality.”

Tancredo is exactly right…and now true conservatives are powerless- because the Amnesty BOMB is about to be dropped on Americans. The Dem-donks, George W. and liberal Republicans are as thick as thieves on this issue.

According to Reuters news agency, a spokesman for Mexican President Vicente Fox cheered Democrats’ success, saying it improves chances for getting a bill done. And Democrats said the issue’s time has come.

That says it all.

This is THE biggest reason why the conservative base is so angry with the Republican party. And angry at what has become of our country. You will never hear or see 12 million Mexicans repeat the Oath Of Allegiance to the United States of America.

Ever.

What Now, Coach?

Posted by Mark on November 9, 2006

The House is gone, Nancy Pelosi will be Speaker, and rumor has it John Murtha will become Chairman of the Appropriations Committee. The Senate is gone, and Harry Reid will likely be Majority Leader. Joe Biden will chair Defense. Patrick Leahy will again chair the Judiciary Committee.

The Left is in charge of both Houses for the next two years. It’s time to take a hard look at what went wrong on Tuesday night. My Brother made an interesting comment the other night. He said I need to get back to my roots. He’s right…just not the way he meant it. The Republican Party has been the vehicle used by Conservatives since 1994. And yet, it was Conservative Democrats that tipped the balance of power into the hands of Pelosi, Senator Dick (Durbin), Kennedy, and the other lefties of the Democrat Party.

Republicans forgot their roots as Conservatives. Time to get back to basics. And time to stop whining. The 2008 campaign has begun.

Emanuel Labor

Posted by Mark on November 9, 2006

So the Demo-bats found themselves a Karl Rove. Found a guy who realized his liberal loons would lose AGAIN if they didn’t start recruiting conservative democrats. (which for the last 12 years has been an oxymoron)

While other Democrats were predicting they would retake the House, Rep. Rahm Emanuel (D-Ill.) was cautious and more than a bit superstitious. The House Democratic political boss would only say of the ripening potential for Democrats that he would “rather be us than them.”

He was right. Was he ever. For the last 22 months, Emanuel, chairman of the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee, has with a singular focus ran a tough-love political organization that Tuesday reclaimed a Democratic majority they lost in 1994. That sets the stage for the first female speaker of the House, Rep. Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.), who tapped Emanuel for the job.

Emanuel is the architect- the master political strategist- behind the Democratic win.

Well…there you have it…the new Rove. So….uh…we can’t say ‘Rovian’ anymore. And ‘Emanuelian’ won’t do….too difficult to say, even with a CLEAR PALATE. Hmmmm…..I think I’ve got it. With apologies to japanese noodles and starving students– I give you…

TOP RAHMEN!

Huh? Not bad…kinda catchy, don’t ya think?

The Democrats are going to put this leadership team together in the next 10 days. There is no obvious spot for Emanuel, but Pelosi can make one.

“…Pelosi can make one?” Pelosi can’t make a bed.

It’s The Economy Stupid? No It’s the Liberal Main Stream Media

Posted by Mark on November 8, 2006

The NY Times, purveyor of tremendous BS, has OUTDONE themselves. They are reporting that the most important thing to voters in this year’s mid-term elections was the economy.

The economy and terrorism were uppermost in the minds of voters from New England to the Great Plains to Big Sky country today as they went to the polls to decide which party will control the next Congress.

In a finding that belied the idea that “all politics is local,” voters across the country told exit pollsters that the state of the national economy was the most important issue, followed closely by terrorism and the Iraq war, for which a majority of voters expressed disapproval.

If the ‘economy’ was truly the most important issue, the Republicans would be STEAMROLLING. But wait! Every opinion poll the MSM has delivered this year shows Americans think the economy is doing poorly.

AND WHY IS THAT EINSTEIN?

Because the MSM has reported, declared, expounded, extolled, blared, and scripted everything to the contrary!

Hmmm….unemployment is at a RECORD low (4.4 %). The Stock Market is at a RECORD high (12,100+). Home ownership is at its HIGHEST ever. More Americans have more disposable income than EVER before.

If the economy was the most important issue to Americans, and it had been reported and trumpeted by the MSM without bias, prejudice, and every other negative I can think of- the Republicans would be winning in a landslide.

All the NY Times did was prove what conservatives have known all along. The NY Times and every liberal rag in the land- HAMMERED home bad news. And so Americans have bought it hook, line, and sink them.

Somewhere in their ivory towers, the liberal elites are celebrating. Well….you are to be congratulated- you pulled it off. Instead of convincing some of the people some of the time, you’ve convinced some of the people- ALL of the time.

I hope you choke on it.

UPDATE:
I wrote this late last night and my hyperlink now MAGICALLY hyperlinks to an article that makes it all about the Iraqi war and not the economy. (Gee…imagine that.) At least I captured much of the BS.

24 Hours From Now

Posted by Mark on November 6, 2006

It’s 9PM CST, the night before. I’m trying to picture my mood just 24 short hours from now, and having trouble. The polls are saying I’ll be deeply, morbidly depressed, and just beginning to come to grips with a Nancy Pelosi House, and a Harry Reid Senate. Rick Santorum, George Allen, and dozens of other Republicans will be history, and the laughter from the terrorists will be loud and long.

And yet…

I’m just not buying the doom and gloom theory. Not just because Karl Rove sounds so confident. And not just because John Kerry is an arrogant idiot. Both of those help, but I’m just not feeling the wave, even here in The People’s Republic of Illinois. Denny Hastert will win, as will Roskam. McSweeney looks possible as well. But we’ll see…

So, for now, color me…

…cautiously optimistic.

Kurds and Shia Lining Up

Posted by Mark on November 6, 2006

Saddam is guilty. And I’m pleasantly suprised the Iraqis followed it through to the end. Meanwhile, the Kurds and Shia are dancing in the streets. Tomorrow, I suspect they will be standing in line to volunteer for putting the NOOSE around his neck.

Saddam Hussein was sentenced to death by hanging today for crimes against humanity as Baghdad’s Shia population deafened the city with celebratory gunfire at the demise of their nemesis.

Oh how the mighty have fallen.

The man, who ruled Iraq with an iron fist for 35 years, was visibly shaking as he waited to learn his fate in what some had billed the trial of the century over the execution of 148 Shia villagers from the town of Dujail after a 1982 assassination attempt on Saddam’s life.

Okay…so he gets an appeal. Of course, I’m hoping the new Iraqi appeals process doesn’t take as long as the AMERICAN appeals process. (I’d like to see him executed BEFORE I retire.)

The judge presiding over the trial of Saddam Hussein and seven others on charges of crimes against humanity ejected former U.S. attorney general Ramsey Clark from the court on Sunday for insulting the tribunal.

Clark, who heads an international team of lawyers involved in the defense, was ejected at the start of a hearing at which Saddam and two aides were convicted and sentenced to death.

The judge, Raouf Abdul Rahman, ejected Clark because he had sent a memo to Abdul Rahman including the accusation that the tribunal was making “a mockery of justice”.

The judge told him in Arabic: “No, you are the mockery … get him out- out.”

Any chance we can get the Iraqis to convict Ramsey Clark too?

San Francisco Values

Posted by Mark on November 4, 2006

Interesting. Very interesting.

The San Francisco Chronicle has decided to face a potential unflattering DESCRIPTOR head on. And for that…I’m semi-impressed- at least they’re not running from it. The quasi-moniker that is gaining traction with conservatives- ‘San Francisco Values’ will leap to the national stage should the Democrats gain control of the House of Representatives after Tuesday’s mid-term elections.

If the Democrats win the House on Tuesday, expect the descriptor -epithet, really – “San Francisco values” to become a permanent part of the media conversation.

Epithet? A little thin-skinned aren’t you? Uh….hardly an epithet. How about: “CONSTRUCTIVE CRITICISM”!

“If (House Minority Leader) Nancy Pelosi becomes speaker of the House, it will be on the Republicans’ list of top five talking points every week,” said longtime GOP media strategist and UC Berkeley political science instructor Dan Schnur.

Several analysts say the phrase is little more than the political flavor of the month — the month being November before a hotly contested election. Schnur and Democratic analysts agree that conservatives are looking for a blowtorch to light under their hard-core activists to get them juiced for election day, and “San Francisco values” is this year’s kerosene.

Well…you leftwing bats, you’re half-right. Conservatives may need to get ‘juiced for election day’ but we already knew months ago….what was at stake. We knew Nancy PeLOSER could be the next House Speaker. (My family has put me on suicide-watch.)

Over the space of a few days, the phrase “San Francisco values” has passed from the lips of conservative FOX News commentator Bill O’Reilly and former House Speaker Newt Gingrich onto the editorial pages of the Augusta (Ga.) Chronicle, where the paper endorsed a Republican congressional candidate because a Democratic House would mean “Pelosi will be speaker and her far-left San Francisco values – gay marriage, cutting and running from Iraq, coddling terrorists, raising taxes, amnesty for illegals – will become the House agenda.”

Yep…the Augusta newspaper defined those ‘values’ quite well. “San Francisco values is this year’s kerosene?” No…this year’s kerosene- is the ENTIRE Democratic Party! As I’ve said many times before…they’ve been hijacked by a cadre of moonbats who represent those values. (MoveOn.org, George Soros, Howard Dean, John Kerry, ad ugly infinitum)

And the Senate? Oh good God- Harry Reid would be in charge. Jumping off the Vincent Thomas Bridge next to where I work…..

…. is still an option.
